About Worship

The early Christians worshipped daily in the church and at home.
They took their worship very seriously. their worshipping life
was filled with vitality. People were attracted to the church. Let
us learn the true meaning of worship from their life.

A. Meaning of Worship
Worship has several meanings:
1. Ritualistic with defined order and rule;
2. Physical with a house dedicated to worship;
3. Active with sincere act of worshipping.

Worshipping is a solemn manifestation of our inner attitude to
God. It is not for our own enjoyment.

B. The Truth of Worship
1. Worship As a Part of Daily Life
Worship in church and at home, as it becomes a part of our
daily life.
2. Worship Is Joyous
Worship with joy for we are celebrating the resurrection of
Jesus Christ. celebration is always joyful. Sunday Service is a
celebration filled with joy.
3. Worship is Sincere
Worship is both relaxed and strict. Although we worship with
a joyous heart, we must maintain a sense of fear for God. It is
both joyous and solemn. Prophet Habakkuk said, ' But the Lord is
in His holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before Him.'
(Habakkuk 2:20)
4. Worship As Witnessing
The early church attracted many people with its joyous
worship. This is witnessing for God in action.
