Fresh Ideas for Your Time Alone with God

As in any good relationship, you can anticipate added joy in
growing closer to God when you add variety and creativity to
your time together.

Consider the following suggestions:

1. Change the form of some good habits. Pray in a posture you don't
normally use(on your knees, with hands raised in worship, and so on)
and read a different translation of the Bible.

2. Make a "Needs List" in your journal. What are you asking God for
today? As you come across a verse that shows how God can meet that
need, write it next to that need.

3. Reread sermon notes and Bible texts. What point was especially
meaningful to you? Why?

4. Write a letter to God describing areas in your life where you'd
like to grow, including your relationship with Him. Seal the letter
in an envelope and ask a friend to mail it back to you in three
months.

5. Read your favorite hymn or worship song. As you ponder each line,
consider the rich truths and overall message. Is it based on a
specific Bible passage? How does it describe and reflect that truth?

6. Memorize a prayer from the Bible and recite it back to the Lord.
Some suggestions: Mary's prayer in Luke(路加) 1:46-55, Nehemiah's in
Nehemiah(尼希米記) 1:5-11, Jesus' in John(約翰) 17, or Paul's in
Colossians(歌羅西書) 1:9-12.
