Son's Light

A mountain has no choice,
In how the sunrise bathes it in light.
As the Sun moves through the day,
Different parts of the mountain receive the Sun's
light.
Only rarely does it receive light all over.
The mountain cannot move,
So it's lighting is incomplete.

We can be like that mountain if we stand still,
But we should crave the Son's light.
Though sedentary the mountain receives light,
And there is growth upon it.
We are able to walk in the Son's light.
When we are immersed in it we too have growth,
However if we stand still we stagnate.

That is why we hear,
Our walk with Christ,
We are moving and growing in Him.
Each day we learn as His light shines on us,
As the mountain prospers in Sunlight,
We too grow in abundance and faith from the Son light.
Let His light shine on you and through you.

As the Sun moves over the mountain,
There are pockets of shadow,
Areas obscured from the light.
As the Sons light shines on us,
We also have pockets of darkness;
Areas we hold onto,
Not relinquishing them to Him.

These pockets of Sin,
Are things we want to hide.
Areas of shame or disgrace,
We are afraid to let the light in,
Unable to ask for forgiveness.
His light and love are perfect;
His forgiveness is ours for the asking.
