             英國倫敦的大佈道家司布真有一位牧師朋友，紐曼•豪爾，
         寫了一本名為 <來就耶穌> 的書。當時另外有位傳道人寫了一篇
         文章嘲諷豪爾，豪爾耐著性子承受。但是當那篇文章受到大眾注
         意時，豪爾就坐下寫信抗議，他的回覆充滿了反擊與痛罵，遠超
         過攻擊他的那篇文章。在寄出去以前，豪爾拿信給司布真看，問
         他的意見。

             司布真仔細讀過，遞回來，確定該信精彩，對方罪有應得。
         「不過，」他又說，「只差一件事。」停了一下，司布真又說﹕
         「你在簽名之下應該加寫 <來就耶穌> 作者。」

             兩位敬虔人彼此看了幾分鐘，然後豪爾把信撕成碎片。


             Pastor Howard Newman, a close friend of the famous
         minister Spurgeon, once finished writing a book called
         .  However, one minister wrote an
         article to severely criticize that book.  Newman was able
         to endure those critisms until the general public started
         to pay attention to that critical article.  Norman felt
         that he had to defend himself against some of that minister's
         critisms.  Therefore, he sat down and wrote a letter filled
         with offensive remarks even more severe than the minister's
         article.  Before mailing out that letter, he showed it to
         his friend Spurgeon for comments.

             Spurgeon carefully read through the letter and gave it
         back to Norman.  He comformed what he had written and agreed
         that the minister deserved a letter like that.  However, he
         added by saying: "There is lack of one thing", "You should
         write underneath your signature 'by the author of '".

             Those two reverent men of God looked each other for a
         moment.  Then Norman tore the letter into pieces.
