A Few Thoughts On The Lord's Prayer

I cannot pray Our, if my faith has no room for others and their need.
若我的信仰中沒預留空間給別人或他人的需要，我不可用「我們」來禱告。

I cannot pray Father, if I do not demonstrate this relationship to God in my
daily living.
若我無法在每日生活中流露出與神的親密關係，我不可以「父」之名禱告。

I cannot pray who art in heaven, if all of my interests and pursuits are in
earthly things.
若我的興趣和追尋全是為了塵世間的產業，我不可以「天上的父」之名禱告。

I cannot pray hallowed by thy name, if I am not striving, with God's help, to
be holy.
若我未能依靠神的幫助而努力聖潔，我不能以「願你的名為聖」禱告。

I cannot pray thy kingdom come, if I am unwilling to accept God's rule in my
life.
若我不願意在我的生命中接受主的規範，我不能以「願你的國降臨」之名禱告 。

I cannot pray thy will be done, if I am unwilling or resentful of hav- ing it
in my life.
若我不願意或不滿意有你的旨意在我生命裡，我不可以「願你的旨意成就」禱告。

I cannot pray on earth as it is in Heaven, unless I am truly ready to give
myself to God's service here and now.
除非我真正的準備好將自己完全獻上，我不能以「行在地上如行在天上」禱告。

I cannot pray give us this day our daily bread, without expending honest effort
for it, or if I would withhold from my neighbor the bread that I receive.
若我沒有誠心誠意地將我所得盡力給我的鄰居，我們就不能以「給我們每日的飲食」禱告。


I cannot pray forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who tresspass
against us, if I continue to harbor a grudge against anyone.
若我繼續隱藏對人的猜忌，我就不能以「免我們的債，如同我們免了別人的債」禱告。

I cannot pray lead us not into temptation, if I deliberately choose to remain
in a situation where I am likely to be tempted.
如果我故意選擇置身於易受試探的環境中，我就不能以「不叫我們遇見試探」禱告。

I cannot pray deliver us from evil, if I am not prepared to fight evil with my
life and my prayer.
如果我沒有準備好用我的生命和禱告為反對邪惡而戰，我就不能以「救我們脫離凶惡」
禱告。

I cannot pray thine is the kingdom, if I am unwilling to obey the King.
如果我不願去順服神，我就不能以「你的國度」禱告。

I cannot pray thine is the power and the glory, if I am seeking power for
myself and my own glory first.
如果我先追尋自己權柄和榮耀，我不能以「權柄和榮耀是你的」禱告。

I cannot pray forever and ever, if I am too anxious about each day's affairs.
如果我太為每天的事物來擔憂，我不能以「直到永遠」禱告。

I cannot pray Amen, unless I honestly say, "Cost what it may, this is my
prayer."
若我誠心的禱告說：「無論任何代價，我都願意付出。」我才能說：「阿門!」
